- This year’s theme: “What’s Stopping You?” is athought-provoking one.

- The items showcased will be the respective choreographers’interpretation of what is stopping them from achieving different things inlife

- E.g: the strains of marriage, fear of thedark, and ignorance.

- From this theme, the club aims to portray the differentobstacles we face in life as well as the way we resolve it.

Showcasing original works from collaborations of student choreographers as well as independent pieces by guest choreographers, this production is set in a blackbox setting, a pioneering feat for NTU Contemporary Dance.

FINALLY..

THE (brain cells killing) MID-SEM TESTS ARE OVERRRRRRRRRR!!!! OH YEAH!

Okay so a few things to take note here.

#1 – Intensive Trainings

Initially ourintensive trainings are to start the week of 19^th December 2011.HOWEVER. Ryan said it would be good to give everyone a week ofenjoyment/holiday before all of us CHIOOOOOONG for GEM 7.

So intensivetrainings will officially start from the week of 26^th December 2011.

Take this week to getample rest, rejuvenate (you can go yoga, tai chi etc.), enjoy yourwell-deserved holidays, party hard (clubbersah~~) but make sure when intensivetrainings start, you’re all ready to give your all for GEM 7 yeah!! :D

#2 – Results

OH YEAH~ We are allexcited about which item you’re in~~~

In order for Ryan andAnAn to select the items that best suits each of us individually, we have togive them time to think through thoroughly too! J

So in another words,we apologize for the disappointment. Results will only be out next week!

Many of y’all mightalready know about this event, That’s It 2011 Year End Countdown Party, whichis also proudly organized by Mitc (Not MITC ah!), which is owned by fellow TPDE members, Jonas, Rahim and Frankie!! :D

The company which isMitc (I repeat, not MITC ah), has invited TPDE to perform for this fun-filled party and after muchdiscussion, we have decided…………………

Firstly, the reasonwhy we have to select a team among all the current available teams from TPDE isbecause, our dope instructor AnAn has a very packed schedule, hence unable tochoreograph and audit dancers to represent TPDE in this event L Therefore, we'd have to select! Hope youunderstand!!

Secondly, why Seven‘S’ One? This is because Seven ‘S’ One represented TPDE in Suntec Dance andtherefore they already have a choreography to showcase! SIM is holding their annual concert on the 16th December at Republic Polytechnic Cultural Centre.The concert revolves around a couple who try to survive the trials of WW2. Salsa, Latin ballroom, contemporary and hip hop genres will be used to relate this story.

There will be various other school will also be involved in this production.

I'm VERY EXCITED to announce this news to you guys! (doesn't this sound familiar?! =p)

1 SUPER-DAMN-AWESOME-DOPE dancer, Henry Link (Elite Force Crew) is coming down to Singapore to judge for Money In The Cap 2 and our club is invited to have a workshop conducted by him, in our studio!!
For those who don't know about them, scroll down to read up on him!

Our club is 1 of the 4 school clubs to be invited, and the first 3 clubs to submit their confirmation will get the private workshops!
So 1 club will miss out!!

For this week, the studio slot trainings will remain the same for Monday (3rd October 2011), Tuesday (4th October 2011) and Thursday (6th October 2011).

BUTTTTTTTTTTTTT~~
There will be no combined training on Monday and no scene trainings on Tuesday and Thursday.


As for Wednesday (5th October 2011), the rehearsal schedule is as follows:

- (especially for those who say they want to work on their Hip Hop to improve) you'll see, experience and learn a lot more about Hip Hop Dance

Hi all! For those who attended the 3rd Vetting, would be aware that that Ryan is willing to help us with the storyline and acting of CommBased! :D

Therefore, Ryan will be spending the entire Wednesday (28th September 2011), from 1PM to 10PM, to go through the scenes with all of us (dancers, actors & choreographers)!

The schedule on Wednesday, 28th September 2011, is as follows:

For this week, as of the week of 26th September 2011, there will not be combined rehearsal on Monday, and no scene trainings on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, because all the scene trainings and full run will be held on Wednesday with Ryan as mentioned above.

Hence for this week, items are allowed to use the studio on

Monday: 5PM to 7PM (Our initial slot for combined rehearsal)

Friday: 1PM to 5PM (Our initial slot for scene 5, 6 and 7’s trainings)

HOWEVER~~

Priority to use the studio goes to the items which are affected by the Wednesday’s rehearsal (Modern 2, 3 and Hip Hop 1)

For Wednesday's 9AM to 1PM's trainings remain unchanged. (PopLock, Bboy, Modern 1, 4)

IT'S BEST OF 3 WORLDS, IN A SINGLE DAY!! :DDDD

Hi Dancers,
There are several issues mentioned in this post, so please read them carefully!!

1) Hiphop Classes + Fees

10am - 12pm 12-2pm						JeanTan/Jonas/Marcus's HH Gin's HH (4 x 30mins) (Alt. week for Caterpillars/ Cocoons & Butterflies)
2pm - 4.30pm						Ryan's Modern - Cocoons & Butterflies (5 x 30mins)
7pm - 10pm			Ryan's Modern -Caterpillars (6 x 30mins)

As most of you would know, our beloved Hip Hop instructor, An An would be going on a tour with Wrecking Crew Orchestra to perform with them!!!!!

So as happy as we are for her, it’s sad that we won’t have her for classes during her tour with them. =(

But but but, during her absence, her Hip Hop classes will be replaced by Gin!!

And due to An An’s tour, she’ll only be able to take us for the last 2 classes of this semester and classes will be slightly different from the previous semester!

Here are the few changes:

- Hip Hop Classes will be combined for this semester, which means, all Caterpillars will be having classes together while Cocoons and Butterflies will be having classes together

- Official Hip Hop Classes by Gin will be from 12-2pm for every week except for the last 2 trainings, but there’ll be Classes by either Marcus, Jean Tan or Jonas at 10-12pm which are compulsory.

- Combined Classes for Caterpillars and Cocoons/Butterflies will be alternated every week for the Official Hip Hop Classes by Gin (refer to the Class Schedule)

So for eg,
for Week 1,
10am - 12pm -> Combined Cocoons/Butterflies by Jonas/Marcus/Jean
12pm - 2pm -> Caterpillars by Gin

for Week 2,
10am - 12pm -> Caterpillars by Jonas/Marcus/Jean
12pm - 2pm -> Combined Cocoons/Butterflies by Gin

and it will continue to alternate every week. =)

CLASSES WILL RESUME ON THE WEEK STARTING 12 September. =)

And here’s the important part,

this semester you actually have lesser official trainings, so everyone who paid for Hip Hop classes have paid extra for your dance fees, as the initial payment amount of $43 was calculated before these changes are implemented.

For all the Hip Hop dancers, the extra amount you paid will be added to your budget for your costume claiming for our concert this year, GEM7, and for all the items bought with the additional budget, you don’t have to return them to the school. =)

We apologise for this issue and hope everyone understands.

It is for aspiring kpop stars between ages of 11 and 29 from Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan and the Phillipines. Hello dancers!

As all of you would know, yesterday was the supposed last day to pay the dance fees for this semester.

Due to the technical error on our side, some of you who went down to pay were unable to pay, thus we told everyone that you'll be informed as soon as the issue is settled.

We'd like to apologise for that, and thus payment will be extended for 1 week for you guys, as we know it's very last minute to inform everyone on Thursday to pay by Friday!

Also, we'd like to thank all those who rushed down to school to pay by Friday for showing us your commitment to the club and also your punctuality. =)

And we'd also like to introduce something new to you guys:

TPDE's first very own specialty card!!

This card is to cater to our beloved dancers on SIP and alumni who wish to come for classes but have irregular working times!

Each card is printed with 20 boxes. Each box represents 30minutes of class.
Cardholders are allowed to join ANY genre of dance classes for unlimited number of times till all the boxes on the card are exhausted!
There is no limit to the number of cards you can purchase.
However, the cards are only valid for this semester's class. Next semester requires a new card.
Unused credits are not transferable to another card nor is it refundable.

One card only costs $31.00! That is 10 hours of dance classes!
Really want to encourage all our alumni and dancers on SIP to come back and dance with us!

Please purchase the card personally from Fayanne by 12th September Monday, 5pm. Also, payment to be made directly to her at SAA office level 2! Prepare exact amount in cash :)

Dance Fees for Semester 2

Hi Dancers!

As all of you are mugging for Exams right now, it also marks the end of first Semester for this Academic Year.

Hence, payment of Dance Fees for Semester 2 has to be made as well (Sadly).

Here's the breakdown of fees:

- Ryan's Caterpillar Class: $81 (9 Classes x $3 per hour)

- Ryan's Cocoon & Butterfly Class: $67.50 (9 Classes x $2.50 per hour)

- Anan's Hiphop Class (For all): $45 (10 Classes x $3 per hour)

You may make payment to OSC starting from 29th Aug to 2nd Sept.

Please remember to make payments or classes would not be able to start on the scheduled date!

For those with any violent objections/financial difficulties/queries,

you may divert them to either Marcus or Sandy.

Are you feeling deprived from dance after studying very hard for your exams?!

Because there are 2 dance events happening tomorrow!!
So it'll be good to take a short break off from studying and head down to refresh yourself with dance events!

there's Suntec Dance Competition happening at Suntec City Galleria Square at 1pm!
There'll be nice showcases put up by many teams tomorrow!
We have TPDE dancers competing so do head down to support them too!

It's a 2v2 All-Style Dance Battle happening at Republic Polytechnic tomorrow!
